Handbells
Dorothy Carter Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is a unique part of the music ministry at First Church. The Handbell Choir provides music for worship services as well as special events such as Harvest of Years and the Chrismon Service. Rehearsal is every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Old Choir Room of the Chapel (1st floor in the back of the Chapel, Room 103). The ability to read music is helpful but not a requirement for joining the choir. Experienced ringers are welcomed as are those who've never rung a bell before.
Come and learn (or teach) the art of ringing English handbells. Help us prepare for the annual Greater Houston Handbell Association FebFest. We also play for worship services once a month. Meet us in the handbell room in the historic chapel building Wednesdays at 6:00 pm for an hour of fun and frivolity (heavy on the frivolity.)
